7 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Me

by Neal Jansons on January 25, 2009

So I got tagged by Josh “Shua” Peters and decided I would fulfill my internet duty and obey the meme.

The Rules for This Particular Meme

  • Link to your original tagger(s) and list these rules in your post. (see above)
  • Share seven facts about yourself in the post. (see below)
  • Tag seven people at the end of your post by leaving their names and the links to their blogs. (see below)
  • Let them know they’ve been tagged. (you’ll just have to trust trackbacks and such)

Without further ado here are 7 things you probably didn’t know about me:

1. I used to be a pirate radio DJ at Free Radio Santa Cruz until I got kicked out.

2. I studied mathematics and philosophy in college, and have yet to be paid to do either. (this just in, will think deeply for grad school tuition for my wife!)

3. I often burst into song inappropriately.

4. I spent two years hitchhiking around the country and having adventures after high school before settling down in glorious California.

5. I started coding very young, and at age 10 accidentally reinvented the text parser while trying to make an artificial intelligence named Max (it was the 80s).

6. I still own the Sega Genesis I had in high school, and most of the games still work.

7. While in high school I played guitar in a metal band in Texas.

I tag:

1. Contrapuntist

2. Patricia Skinner

3. Mario Olckers

4. thePete

5. The Dude Dean

6. Teeg (Or Allan)

7. Marcel LeBrun

I have only just seen this Neal. I'm so sorry. Around the date you wrote this we were just learning that my husband's nephew has leukemia so I was kind of outta touch for a while. I will get to it now. :) And, thanks for the tag.
